Artist Pauli Viljanen

Hi, welcome to my website. My name is Pauli Viljanen, Painter | Portrait painter  from Finland. Living and working in Tampere at this moment. I gradueted from Free Art Scool in the spring of 2015 and the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts studying painting and drawing from autumn 2015 to summer 2019. My painting selected to Portrait Now 2021 exhibition. The Carlsberg Foundations Portrait Award at Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark and exhibition to the Ljungberg Museum in Sweden

As an artist, I´am intersted in classical and modern art combine. Dialogue with the present and disappearance. In my art, I want to bring out what is beautiful and interesting to me. My works are currently on display e.g. Tampereen Keskus Galleria. You can also buy directly from me or come to visit my studio at Rantatie 37. Tampere

I work mainly with oil paints and charcoal. People´s faces are always fascinating, young, old, smooth, wrinkled. How to record the appearance, the personality at a person. Likewise, momentum and mythology are interesting topics. In my paintings I wanna share energy, power and love.
